I shipped a box of gifts home on my last trip to Eruope, and everything made it fine except my daughter’s birthday gift. It is an ornate fairy figurine jewelry box made of that type of resin material that looks like real porceline. It got smashed into about twelve pieces. Insurance will cover replacement, but no matter how hard I’ve looked I can’t find the same exact piece. I contacted the store in Barcelona, but they can’t get the exact one anymore. So, I though I might try to piece it together if I had the right fixative. Any ideas out there?

Mix two parts fairy dust with one part Super Glue, close your eyes, and poof!, it’ll be just like new.

Yes, try Araldite. The quick drying variety in two tubes that you mix together in equal parts. Dont overdo the layer, a mere smear will do and press together. It should dry in about five minutes. Clean off the drips with a cotton bud immediately or wait till dry and pare off the bits along the cracks with a blade. I have done many similar boxes and fine antiques with excellent results.
